Micky Collins' concern over Star's missing mum

Friday 14th October 2011
Micky Collins has appealed to the Kentish Football community to help find the 72-year-old mother of former Eastenders star Craig Fairbrass who went missing in Bromley earlier in the week, writes Stephen McCartney.

Maureen Fairbrass had been shopping with her husband Jack in Waitrose, which is close to Bromley South train station, on Tuesday when CCTV filmed her wandering off from the car park of the supermarket chain at 5:30pm.

She is described as being about 5ft 8in tall with blonde shoulder length hair and of medium build.

Mrs Fairbrass, who grew up in the east end of London, was wearing a ¾ length black leather jacket, black polo skirt, black polo shirt, jeans and black shoes.

Collins, who manages Kent Hurlimann Football League club Erith & Belvedere, is a friend of actor Craig Fairbrass, 47, who starred as Dan Sullivan in Eastenders between 1999 and 2001 and is currently filming a new film Hijacked with former Wimbledon footballer Vinnie Jones.

A concerned Collins said:  “If anybody can come forward with any information of the whereabouts of Maureen Fairbrass, if you’ve seen her, contact the number below.

“Craig and the family are very close friends of mine.  Obviously Craig was out of the country filming with Vinnie Jones.

“We need to find her safe and well and I’m appealing to the local Kent football community to just keep their eyes open and see if they can look for her basically.

“She’s 72, she suffers from dementia so she may be in a confused state – it’s sad – and obviously we want to find her safe and sound as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should call Bromley police's missing persons unit on 020 8284 8766 or Missing People on 0500 700700.
