Minshull wants good form to take into the play-off's
TONBRIDGE ANGELS’ hard-working midfielder Lee Minshull knows exactly what to expect from Hendon on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.
The 23-year-old Rochester based midfielder, who says he has settled in well at Longmead Stadium following his switch from league rivals Ramsgate, expects a battle in the middle of the pitch against the north Londoners.
The Angels have cemented third place in the Ryman Premier League for a number of weeks now, and go into the Longmead clash on 64 points - nine points clear of the side in fifth - with six games to play.
Hendon arrive in Kent on 42 points, the same amount of points as Hastings United, who occupy the highest relegation spot, but in their last five games Hendon have picked up ten points as they bid to climb away from the drop zone.
But despite Hendon’s recent run of form, Munshull, speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk, says it will be important to win their last six games to gather momentum for the play-off’s at the end of the season.
“Hendon are improving,” said Minshull. “They’re obviously battling against relegation, so they’re always going to be tough games.
“I mean, the way the league is this year no-one’s playing for nothing, so every game’s going to be tough and I’ve always found them a tough team to play against.”
After Hendon, the Angels travel to Billericay Town on Tuesday night, before travelling to Tooting & Mitcham United on Good Friday.
Former manager Tony Dolby brings his relegation threatened Hastings United side to Longmead Stadium on Easter Monday, before the Angels finish their season with a trip to Harrow Borough before locking horns with champions Dover Athletic on the last day of the season.
“Six wins will put us in good stead for the play-off’s and traditionally it’s the teams who get on a run and carry on (to promotion),” added Minshull.
