My injury was a very tough experience, says Bromley striker Warren McBean

BROMLEY striker Warren McBean says he wants to make up for lost time after missing the whole of last season through injury.

McBean was ruled out after he ruptured his Achillies during a pre-season fixture with tenants Cray Wanderers at Hayes Lane back in July 2012.

Manager Mark Goldberg has decided to keep McBean at Hayes Lane, hopeful that the forward can rediscover his goalscoring prowess again in Conference South next season.

“It was a very tough experience, probably one of the worst of my life,” McBean told www.bromleyfc.net.

“It was a terrible injury. I was really looking forward to the season and I thought I was doing really well.  I was doing a lot away from football as well with my fitness, so I was gutted to miss out.”

After having his surgery, McBean began his rehabilitation and in April started his fitness work.

“My pre-season started from April really,” added McBean.  “I’ve been in the gym and working hard getting ready for the new season. I can’t wait!”

Bromley begin their eight-match pre-season campaign when League Two champions Gillingham visit Hayes Lane on Saturday, 6 July (3pm).
