My operation was a "resounding success," says Walker

Monday 11th June 2007

Maidstone United’s joint-manager Alan Walker said his operation earlier today in Belfast was a “resounding success.”

The 46-year-old suffered a freak training ground injury last Tuesday when he was left partially paralysed after heading a football during an Irish FA “A” License coaches’ course, whilst observing.

Well-wishers throughout Kent have been concerned about Walker’s well-being, but this evening, he told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk that all is well after his three and a half hour operation.

“My surgeon has told me the operation was a resounding success,” he said.

“I’m not doing anything at the moment.  I’m under sedation but I hope to start rehab work tomorrow.”

www.kentishfootball.co.uk wishes Alan a speedy recovery!
