New League to kick off in August 2010

Sunday 19th July 2009
A NEW League at Step 6 here in Kent will be formed in time for the 2010-11 season, writes Stephen McCartney.

The news follows a meeting which was held at the KCFA last Thursday between the Kent League and the Kent County League.

The meeting was intended to discuss the next steps in the development of step 6 following the successful clubs meeting in May.

The discussions between the two leagues were detailed and comprehensive, with both leagues wanting to develop and administer the new step.
Following a suggestion from the Football Association, it was agreed that each league would present their case to the FA Leagues committee as to who should be responsible for administering the new league.

"It's another positive step," said Kent League chairman Denise Richmond. "There will be a new step 6 league in Kent formed for the start of next season and that can only be of benefit for football in the county and surrounding area."
