New under 21 league in the pipeline

Thursday 14th January 2010
KENT football clubs are being invited to join a new league for under 21 players, starting in October 2010, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Kent Youth League management committee are considering for it’s member clubs to form a division consisting of 8 to 10 clubs with a subsidiary cup competition.

Chief Executive Colin Boswell says the League would be for under 21 players and clubs will be allowed to play up to three over aged players.

“This would give managers the opportunity of seeing their younger players and give players a run out who were coming back from injury,” said Mr Boswell.

“It is proposed to run the competition from October to March.”

Mr Boswell invites interested clubs to contact him by email and he added, “No commitment is envisaged at this stage but if enough interest is generated a meeting will be called later in the season.”
