Thursday 12th May 2011
MAIDSTONE UNITED player-manager Jay Saunders has unveiled his first summer signing.

Central defender, Nick Reeves, 24, who scooped Sittingbourne’s player-of-the-year award last month, has opted to sign for the Stones, despite attracting the attention and interest of several other Ryman League clubs since the end of the season.

Speaking about Reeves, who scored six goals for Sittingbourne during the season just finished, Saunders told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk: “I’ve played against Nick a couple of times and I’ve always found him to be a very good opponent.

“He has had quite a few clubs chasing him for his signature since the season finished so I’ve had to move quickly to secure his signature.

“Nick will be a very good addition for Maidstone United.”
