Norton Sports kick-off at Faversham Town
NEWLY promoted side Norton Sports will make the short trip to Faversham Town on the opening day of the new Kent League season, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Salters Lane clash on Saturday, 9th August, will surely be watched by a crowd of over 300 and is the pick of the opening day games.
VCD Athletic, a side that have finished runners-up for the past two seasons, kick off their campaign with a trip to Tunbridge Wells.
Meanwhile, Holmesdale’s first game under their new floodlights at Oakley Road will be a local derby with Beckenham Town on Tuesday, 12th August -a fixture which is also expected to draw a big crowd.
The annual curtain raiser, meanwhile, is the Kent League Challenge Shield, which takes place on Saturday, 2nd August at Bayliss Avenue.
Thamesmead Town, preparing for their inaugural Ryman League Division One North campaign, welcome Erith Town, a side that won the Kent League Cup last term.
