O'Brien looking forward to Tonbridge return
Sunday 06th December 2009
CHATHAM TOWN boss Alex O’Brien says he is looking forward to his side’s Championship Manager Cup tie at Tonbridge Angels on Tuesday night, writes Mike Green.
O’Brien played for the Angels under previous manager Tony Dolby and is looking forward to taking his Chatham side to his home-town club, now managed by Tommy Warrilow, in the third round of the Ryman League’s Cup competition.
"Tuesday's a massive game whether we've top of the League or bottom of the league,” O’Brien told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“It'll be a good game as we're going up against a fantastic side with a fantastic manager who knows what he's doing and Lew (Watts, my assistant manager) and I look and that and think "Geez we're going up against that!" - a big club and a big character.
“If Tom gives us any advice you know that its a good honest bit of advice - its not someone trying to pull the curtains over your eyes - we trust what he says but it does represent a chance for all of us to put ourselves up against a very, very good side - a very, very good outfit!
“We'll change something's around - Dean (Ruddy) will have a rest and Richard (Stroud) will get a game in goal, Dave Hall will be back from suspension and there will be certain things that we need to tweak but as much as we want to got here and win it does give some players the opportunity to go there and get a game.”
