We want to try and finish on a high, says Otford United boss Mike Langston
OTFORD UNITED manager Mike Langston says he wants to go into the Christmas break on a high.
The O’s have climbed away from relegation trouble, going into tomorrow’s home game against Borden Village in tenth-place in the Andreas Carter Joma Kent County League Premier Division table with 15 points on the board from their 12 league outings.
“Tomorrow is our last game this year as next week we have five boys in the Kent County League squad as we travel to Jersey in the FA Inter-League Cup, so we want to try and finish on a high, especially following a good result last week when we made the long trip to New Romney and returned 2-1 winners,” said Langston.
“The squad is taking shape now, albeit not a large one, but I'm happy with the way things are progressing. Only four players start tomorrow that played in our first league fixture back in August.
“We are without Scott Ellison, who only lasted 15 minutes last week with an injured ankle, also Kevin Everest is doubtful due to his knee.
“Borden Village will be a tough game tomorrow, they are sitting fourth in the league so it won't be easy, but we are feeling quite confident as no doubt they will be so should be a good competitive game. Hopefully we can take all three points going into the Christmas break.”
