Pitch will be a bog, Munday warned
Thursday 14th January 2010
WHITSTABLE TOWN boss Mark Munday expects to travel to Fleet on a midweek date later on in the season as the Hampshire club warn that Saturday’s game will be called off, writes Stephen McCartney.
“I have been speaking to Fleet and they are keeping me updated on the chances of the game going ahead,” Munday told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.
The general manager of the Hampshire club expects the game to be fail tomorrow’s pitch inspection.
“If you want my personal opinion the chances of the game going ahead on Saturday are slim,” said Lyn Bevan.
“We have been in touch with the league and no decision will be made until tomorrow.
“There is still snow on the pitch, which I understand is the same at Whitstable. If it does thaw in time for Saturday’s game the next problem will be waterlogged pitches, it will be like playing on a bog.”
