Ramsgate bid to raise £5,000 online: The Covid-19 crisis has led to a huge reduction in income with sponsors tightening their belts, the clubhouse closing and the loss of matchday receipts
RAMSGATE have launched an online fundraising page in a bid to raise £5,000 during the coronavirus crisis lockdown.
A statement from the Isthmian League South East Division club said: “The Covid-19 crisis has led to a huge reduction in income with sponsors tightening their belts, the clubhouse closing and the loss of matchday receipts.
“However, our football club still has a number of liabilities that have to be met.
“As many other clubs of our size have done, we are asking our local community for support through this extremely difficult time with any donations, no matter how small, gratefully received.”
All English Football League clubs, including Gillingham and National League clubs will receive a share of £125m funding from the Premier League but clubs in the Isthmian League and lower have to find their own way of bringing money into their clubs with no means of bringing in money during the shut-down.
Ian Evatt, whose Barrow side were sitting top of the National League at the time of the suspension of playing football in this country, has revealed on his club website, how much revenue his club receive from National League funding yearly.
“Our turnover from the National League, the money that we get, is about £70,000-£80,000. To get in the EFL it would mean £1.2 million per year to my football club.”
