I think I’m about 60% of where we need to be and there is so much room for improvement, admits Ramsgate boss Nick Davis
RAMSGATE manager Nick Davis says there is room for improvement within his side.
The Rams are in ninth-place in the Bostik South East Division table, having collected 36 points from 28 games.
Cray Wanderers welcome Horsham in the top-of-the-table clash at Hayes Lane tomorrow, with Tony Russell’s side 13 points clear of the Hornets in second-place.
Haywards Heath Town (52 points), Ashford United (51 points) and Hastings United (50) are also in the play-off zone and will be battling it out to see who will join Cray Wanderers in the Bostik Premier Division next season.
“We have two very tough games away to Ashford and Hythe,” said Davis.
“Our home form has really taken care of itself, being unbeaten at Southwood since 15 December.
“The three games that we have lost away from home have all been 1-0 so I think we are certainly making every team work hard to get anything from us and to have only two of the last 12 reflects this, albeit we have drawn too many games.”
Ashford United have won 10 of their last 14 games since Tommy Warrilow came in as manager at Homelands Stadium.
“We had a light session last night and then a team meeting about Ashford, so we will be as prepared as we always are,” added Davis.
“I’m going to be honest, I think I’m about 60% of where we need to be and there is so much room for improvement.
“These last eight games gives me the chance to have a look at a few things and some targets for next year.
“I need to keep the back bone of the side and then really strengthen and let’s see where it takes us.”
