Read Tommy Sampson's first blog on the KCFA website
Thursday 17th March 2011
Every week, Kent football legend, Tommy Sampson takes time out to reflect on the weekend’s football action across the county in a Blog, published on the Kent County Football Association website.
In his first article, Maidstone based Sampson, a friend to many people here in Kent, speaks about making his Dartford debut back in March 1974 when he played against rivals Maidstone United, and wishes The Stones well to reclaim their place back as one of Kent’s flagship clubs.
Sampson, who is passionate about Kent football and won the FA Carlsberg Vase for Deal Town at the old Wembley Stadium back in May 2000, reflects on the amazing progress made by Sevenoaks Town, VCD Athletic, Thamesmead Town and Corinthian - describing the stalwarts that keep their clubs up and running as the “bedrock of our national game.”
Sampson also wishes pal Tony Reynolds the best of luck as he re-builds one of his former clubs, Ashford.
