Rookie manager proves doubters wrong - EXCLUSIVE

Monday 10th December 2007

Coney Hall’s first-team manager Ryan Musgrove has been awarded the Kent County League premier division manager of the month award, writes Stephen McCartney.

The rookie manager has had to rebuild his squad, keeping around five players who played for the club in the Combined Counties League last season.

Kevin Imber, the club’s vice-chairman, heaped praise on Musgrove on the way that he has turned around fortunes at Tiepigs Lane.

The side are currently in fourth place in the premier division table with eight wins and a draw from their fourteen league outings.

“Ryan is in his first year as a manager, at any level, so he’s been on a very steep learning curve,” Mr Imber said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“Not only has he gradually pulled together a quality group of players, but he’s improved the all-round discipline in the team and got the players enjoying their football.

“Since losing to lower opposition in the Intermediate Challenge Shield, he’s had five straight wins and in the process, collected not so much as a single yellow card.

“There were many who thought we’d made a mistake in appointing someone with so little experience, we’re very pleased to see that he’s proving the doubters wrong.”
