Sampson appreciates messages of support
Redhill manager Tommy Sampson thanked the Kentish football family for their support, whilst he recovers in Maidstone Hospital following his recent small stroke, writes Stephen McCartney.
Club officials, players, supporters and managers contacted www.kentishfootball.co.uk during the last couple of weeks with their messages of support.
“I would like to thank everyone that has sent messages via this website,” Sampson said.
“My wife brings them for me to read and I get emotional over the content.
“They are a comfort to me and help in my recovery, which we hope to be a speedy one, although we realise it could take time.”
Sampson, 53, signalled out Alan Walker, the joint-manager of Maidstone United, for his support.
Walker spent the early parts of pre-season in a Belfast hospital following a freak training ground accident.
And Sampson said: “Sandi and I would like to give a special thank you to Alan Walker, who has given us so much hope for a good recovery."
The former Herne Bay, Deal Town, Ashford Town and Dartford manager, added:
“In addition, to all other managers, friend, editors and fans, I hope to see you all sooner rather than later in the dug out.
“Many thanks, once again - God bless you all.”
