Seager relishes return of injured trio

WHITSTABLE TOWN striker Ian Pulman made it ten goals from his last ten games, netting the equaliser against Cray Wanderers at Belmont Road on Saturday.

Pulman was quick to praise his team-mates for their contribution to his goal tally in the 1-1 draw.

“Everyone knows that Dave Corey and I are best maters and he knows my game so we work well together,” Pulman told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.

“The rest of the lads have made it so easy for us to fit into the side.

“I am delighted with my form, I always knew that I could do a job for Marc (Seager), thankfully he put his faith in me and Dave and I think you can see that as we both get fitter with each game that goes by the team performance has improved as well.

“It was a struggle at first but to score ten goals from the last ten games is great and I want to concentrate on keeping going until the last game of the season as I believe we are at least a midtable side as the results have shown this month or so.”

Meanwhile, young defenders Josh Maine and Michael Adcock have both set pre-season training for next season as their goal on the long road back from injury.

“How frustrating has my year been!” Maine said. “I have been out the whole season with a really frustrating injury.

“No one knew what it was until last month when at long last I got to see a specialist and they confirmed it’s tendonitis, so at last I can start treatment.”

He added: “Watching the lads has not been easy and I wanted so much to test myself at Ryman level this season as I believe that under Marc I have become a better player.”

Adcock, 23, who has been advised to rest his troublesome back for three months, is also aiming to return next season.

He said: “I suffered a few back twinges and have taken the specialists advice so will reluctantly havew to rest until next season but I will be back fitter and stronger and fighting for my place.”

Manager, Marc Seager, whose side are in the bottom four, nine points adrift of the relegation zone with nine games left, said: “Although I am disappointed that I have not been able to have the likes of Michael and Josh in the squad, I am delighted at the news that they will be back fit for next season.

“It will be like having two new quality players to include in the team and I can’t wait to see them both back.”

“They both have massive futures with the club. How far we go as a club depends on the quality of players we have in the side at any one time, they have both been a big loss this season.

“Without these two lads, then a sidelined Robbie Thomas and the loss of Jackson (Ohakam) and this is no disrespect to the lads we have in the side now but you are looking at five or six players that I have been missing since almost the first game of the season.

“Any manager wants a strong bench and to have players pushing each other for the shirt. It keeps everyone on their toes and makes them all better players.

“So the news that Robbie is on his way back to the first team and Josh and Michael will be back for next season is a big boost for the club.”
