Sevenoaks Town unveil Harry Hudson as their new manager while current Glebe coaches Dan Hogan and Adam Flemming take interim charge

SEVENOAKS TOWN have confirmed the appointment of Harry Hudson as the club’s new first-team manager at 18:30 on Sunday night.

Hudson joins the club from Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side Glebe, having departed the Chislehurst-based club yesterday.

The former Croydon and Whyteleafe manager’s appointment comes after a robust recruitment process with 57 applicants for the role, following Micky Collins’ departure last Sunday after eight amazing years in charge of the club.

Thew new Oaks manager will be supported by a vastly experienced and talented backroom team made up of Mark Dacey (assistant manager), Danny Rose (coach), Julian Leigh (goalkeeper coach), Terry Groom (coach) and Kevin Rawlinson (head of analysis).

Leigh, Jason Bourne and Groom were in caretaker charge of yesterday’s 3-1 home defeat to Burgess Hill Town.

Bourne, the former Tunbridge Wells manager and captain, has not been included in Hudson’s management team and has left the club.

Hudson’s first priority is to ensure Oaks maintain their Isthmian League South East Division status, following a run of five successive defeats, which leaves them third-from-bottom in the table with 23 points on the board from 28 games and with 10 league games remaining.

“It is a huge honour for me to be appointed as first-team manager of this ambitious club, I can’t wait to get started,” said Hudson, in a club statement.

“After speaking to the directors and trustees, I very much felt their enthusiasm to grow the club, be innovative on all fronts and achieve something special.

“The club is widely respected in so many regards; for its first-class junior and youth teams, community initiatives and of course its amazing 3G pitch with further exciting plans to build a new clubhouse and take Greatness Park to the next level.

“These are exciting times for everyone involved with the club.

“My first message to the players will be that we have to do this together.  We find ourselves in a difficult position but we’ll try to do our job and fight for every point over the remaining 10 games of the season.

Chairman Paul Lansdale added: “Harry is one of the most highly-rated young managers within non-league football.  His hunger to succeed and ambitions to progress, match those of us as a club.

“He has a reputation for playing a great style of football and his passion for coaching and nurturing talent is so clear to see.”

Hudson left Glebe sitting in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division – with 55 points from 23 games – and was in charge of the club for eight months, having replaced Gary Alexander on 12 June 2020.

Hudson took charge of 38 games in all competitions, winning 26, drawing seven and losing five.

Hudson takes his new club to local rivals Corinthian next Saturday, 26 February, while Glebe chairman Rocky McMillan has appointee interim manager's for Monday night's trip to K Sports.

"I am delighted to announce that Dan Hogan and Adam Flemming, our exisiting first-team coaches, have been appointed interim first-team manager's," said McMillan in a statement.

"They have had a major input this season, to date, and deserve this opportunity.

"The response from the players has been magnificient and we eagerly anticipate tomorrow's game at K Sports.

"I would also like to thank the many people who have contacted me regarding the permanent manager position.

"At this moment in time, under the new management team, we are solely focused on winning as many of our remaining matches as possible."
