Sevenoaks Town set to unveil new manager within days
Saturday 19th June 2010
SEVENOAKS TOWN are hoping to reveal the identity of their new manager in the next few days.
The Kent League club have 15 applications for the post, following the decision of Simon Jones to stand down at the end of last season.
Jones had guided the Greatness Park side to their highest ever Kent League finish (sixth place) and to the Kent League Cup Final last season.
In a statement issued on the club’s website, www.sevenoakstownfc.org chairman Tony Smart said: “We had a very good response, and are close to naming our new manager.
"We hope to make an announcement by at least next Monday, or earlier if possible".
Sevenoaks are also set to confirm their pre-season friendly fixtures as well, with at least four games likely to be arranged in the build up to the new Kent League season on August 7.
However, the club have confirmed they have pulled out of the Courier Cup Challenge Tournament at Tunbridge Wells on Saturday July 24 and have been replaced by Kent County League side Rusthall.
