Monday 18th June 2012
SEVENOAKS TOWN have acted quickly to the news of Darren Anslow’s resignation by bringing back former boss Simon Jones this morning.

The man who guided the club to their best ever finish in the Kent League accepted chairman Tony Smart’s invitation to return, as a dramatic chain  of events unfolded over the weekend, culminating in Anslow resigning after one year in charge.

The club issued the following statement on their club website www.sevenoakstownfc.org this morning.

“Following the unexpected resignation of our first team manager, Darren Anslow, the chairman and board of Sevenoaks Town FC wish to announce that Mr Simon Jones and his management staff are returning to the club after an absence of two years, when Simon had to step down for personal reasons.

“The club welcome Simon and his team back and offer him their full support for the forthcoming season.

“We would also at this time like to wish Darren and his team all the best in whatever they decide to do and thank him for all his hard work over last season.”

Anslow guided the Greatness Park outfit to their first ever Kent Senior Trophy Final, but they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Hollands & Blair, the first ever Kent Invicta League side to lift the silverware.
