Slade Green unveil their new manager
Following Saturday’s emergency committee meeting, Kent League club Slade Green have appointed former Southend United player Adam Morrish as their new first team manager, following the recent resignation of Peter Little.
This is Morrish's first venture into senior football management. Adam first arrived at the club in June 2006 from Erith & Belvedere and despite being plagued by injury, including a four month lay off with a fractured back he ended last season as Green’s top goalscorer.
Adam began his career at Southend United managed at the time by former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland player Ronnie Whelan and then Alvin Martin and was part of their Essex Senior Cup winning side in 1997.
In 1998 aged just 18 he joined Southern League side Dartford and with the exception of a short spell with Ryman League outfit Witham Town spent a total of four season's with The Darts before moving to Maidstone United when he picked up Kent League Runners Up and Kent Senor Trophy winners medals.
Following a brief stint with Conference South side Welling United he linked up with Erith & Belvedere playing both Southern and Kent League football before putting pen to paper and signing for then Green boss Danny Evans at the start of last season.
Morrish takes charge for the first time on Saturday when basement boys Slade Green travel to third-from-bottom outfit Faversham Town in a Kent League fixture.
