BROMLEY players’ have spread some Christmas cheer at the Princess Royal University Hospital in nearby Farnborough. 

The Vanarama National League club purchased 12 portable bedside DVD players for the Pediatric Ward.  Some of the club’s players had the humbling experience of meeting some of the patients who would be spending Christmas in hospital, as well as meeting the fantastic team of nursing staff.

DARTFORD manager Tony Burman says he’s feeling proud of his side after they beat FA Cup heroes Whitehawk last weekend.

Andy Pugh scored the only goal down on the south coast and Burman told www.dartfordfconline.co.uk: “I’m really pleased to get another three points at a very difficult place to play.  I felt the players conducted and handled themselves brilliantly and in the first half we probably should have come into half-time more than 1-0 up.

“It puts ourselves in a good frame of mind leading up to Christmas and I’m pleased for the supporters whether they managed to get to the game or not. They would have been proud of the players on Saturday.”

EBBSFLEET UNITED’S Academy prospect Shilow Tracey would likely have played against Phoenix Sports according to Daryl McMahon - but he was otherwise occupied across the Atlantic.

The striker, currently interesting plenty of teams at the top level of the English game, was with the Tottenham Academy side in the United States and has played two games in the Florida tour, scoring two goals.

He turned out for 52 minutes in an 8-0 win over Jacksonville Armada in Florida, scoring one and creating another as Spurs cruised the second game of their IMG Cup tournament. Prior to that game, Tracey was a 55th minute substitute in a 3-1 win over Baltimore Celtic, netting the third for Spurs.

HERNE BAY boss Sam Denly has signed former Tonbridge Angels and Cray Wanderers midfielder Lee Browning, who has been out of the game this season through work commitments.

Denly told the club’s website: “I am naturally very pleased to have secured the signature of Lee Browning.  I have been speaking to him for a while now and he struggled to commit previously due to work commitments but can now fully commit which is great news for Herne Bay Football Club.

“Lee is a quality player and his background speaks for itself.  I’m looking forward to working with Lee and seeing him help improve our already excellent squad.”

MAIDSTONE UNITED have completed the signing of Callum Davies, 22, on an 18-month deal from Gillingham.

The defender’s move to the Vanarama National League South club ends a 15-year association with the Gills after going through all the age groups with the club, he made it into the first team and picked up a League title medal in 2013.

MARGATE would like to thank supporters for their contributions on “Pay What You Want” day where over 500 fans paid anything from a penny up to see Nikki Bull’s first game in charge of the club last weekend.

“Admittedly this has a greater impact for teams like Dulwich rather than Margate as there isn’t a Premier League or Championship club in Kent.

“Dulwich saw their attendance go from high hundreds to near 3,000 as they can pull in fans of all the big London clubs who want to experience the non-league scene.

“Margate were unable to take part on the original date as we were competing in The FA Cup, which carries set rules on ticket pricing.

“We thus earmarked the Gosport Christmas game as an opportunity to offer a little bit of relief at this time of year when families are facing (or ignoring) their Christmas bill.

“Sadly, with a few other events on in Thanet and the last weekend to hit the shops before the big day we didn’t get the 1,000 plus we were hoping for.

“That side we got the three points and the club will continue to review pricing policies for the future.”

GREENWICH BOROUGH footballers paid a visit to the children’s ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich where they met the staff and children.

Sweets and goodies were given to the children by the players of the Southern Counties East Football League club.

HOLLANDS & BLAIR’S Scottish left-back Bryan Greenfield made 300 appearances for the Gillingham-based club and celebrated by scoring direct from a corner in the club’s 3-0 win over Tunbridge Wells.

LORDSWOOD manager James Collins has released a number of players, including Tim Babington (who has signed for Kent Invicta League side Sheppey United), Grant Brown, Alwayne Jones, Brendon Cass and Shaquille Richards.

RAMSGATE have appointed Lloyd Blackman as their new first team coach. He replaces Ian Cox, who left the club in November to take co-charge of Whitstable Town alongside former Faversham Town midfielder Wayne Wilson.

TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Steve McKimm has sent striker Ellis Brown, 19, out on a month’s loan to their Ryman Premier League rivals Merstham.

“This move will give Ellis the opportunity to get more first team football and at his age it’s important that he gets as many minutes on the pitch as possible to aid his development,” McKimm told www.tonbridgeangelsonline.co.uk.

“Hopefully he will get a run of games that will enable him to come back to Longmead and challenge for a regular first team start while we make our final push in this season’s campaign.”

WALTON & HERSHAM have been deducted three points for playing an ineligible player against Whitstable Town on the opening day of the Ryman League Division One South season.

A statement issued by the Isthmian League said: “The Football Association has today rejected an appeal by Walton & Hersham FC against a decision of the League to deduct the Club three points for playing an ineligible player on the opening day of the 2015-16 season.

“The club was fined £100 and deducted the points gained for a 4-1 win over Whitstable Town on Saturday 8 August 2015 after being charged by the League in accordance with League Rule 6.9 for playing an ineligible player, Chidi-James Williams Agunabor.

“The player was serving a three match suspension carried over from last season and imposed while he was playing for Erith Town in the Southern Counties East Football League.

“In a final and binding decision announced on Wednesday 23 December, The FA Appeal Board refused the Club’s appeal as it was not in accordance with the Regulations governing the lodging of an Appeal.

“The League has amended the Division South table to reflect the deduction of points.”

WELLING UNITED have confirmed that Millwall have recalled on-loan goalkeeper Tom King.
