DARTFORD boss Tony Burman prepares for the club’s inaugural campaign in Blue Square South next season by releasing six players today.
Burman has been in discussions with his Ryman Premier League championship winning squad during the week and unveiled details of which players will part company with the Princes Park outfit.
Defenders Ryan Johnson and Adam Flanagan; midfielder Danny Dafter and strikers Jay May, Rob Haworth and Allan Tait have all left.
“I have had to make some real tough decisions this week regarding players who I am going to release,” Burman told the club’s revamped official website - www.dartfordfconline.com.
“It is a very difficult time especially when the players have performed so brilliantly for our football club.
“I cannot thank them enough for their efforts and would like to wish them all the best for the future.”
EBBSFLEET UNITED have offered a contract on the same terms as last season to defender Darius Charles following MyFC members’ ratification of offering contracts to a certain value to selected players.
Manager Liam Daish has said he will be keeping in touch with all Fleet squad players from last season to keep them abreast of club developments as he seeks to build his squad for Blue Square South after losing the club’s top-flight status after eight years in the Conference.
To boost the coffers, supporters should consider the Adopt A Player scheme, which now stands at £12,000 at the time of writing. Please visit http://myfootballclub.co.uk/AdoptAPlayer.html
Following formalisation of the club's renewed sponsorship deal with Eurostar, part of the deal includes provision of free Eurostar tickets for players and management with the view to playing a potential pre-season friendly against continental opposition - recalling the innovative 'floodlight friendlies' against the likes of RC Calais during the Fifties when the Fleet were pioneers for floodlit matches.
Meanwhile, the Football Conference has announced that their league season will start on Saturday 14 August 2010 and close on Saturday 30 April 2011.
BROMLEY’S reserve side have claimed the Capital Football League Eastern Division title, following their 2-1 win at Witham Town.
Rob Palmer’s side lost just five games during the season, scoring more goals than any other team with 46 goals from 18 games.
In their debut season the second string also finished runners-up in the Presidents Challenge Cup, where they lost 1-0 to Harrow Borough earlier in the month.
MAIDSTONE UNITED have been forced to place contracted striker Danny Hockton on the transfer list.
Manager Peter Nott has been told that his budget has been cut as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Ryman Premier League club.
The Stones only maintained their league status on the penultimate game of last season.
A club statement, issued on www.maidstoneunited.co.uk, said: “Due to a reduction in the playing budget for the forthcoming season the club have reluctantly placed striker Danny Hockton on the transfer list.
“Danny still has one year remaining on his contract that he signed when he joined the club.
“He will remain a Maidstone United player until such time a situation deal is agreed with all parties involved.
“Ryman and Blue Square South teams have been contacted to inform them of his availability.”
MARGATE still await official confirmation that they will be playing Ryman Premier League football again next season.
“The official announcement of the composition of the Ryman and other pyramid leagues has been delayed and is now expected at the beginning of next season,” said a club statement, posted on www.margate-fc.com.
Meanwhile, last season’s Supporters’ Player-of-the-Year Dan Stubbs is set to move to Icelandic club Akureyri.
The north Icelandic side play in League 1 - the second division of the Iceland League - and finished in mid-table last season.
RAMSGATE are staging the Southwood 6-a-side Youth Tournament at Southwood Stadium tomorrow, commencing at 9am.
Ramsgate’s youth teams and some of the best young talent around will be competing in the various age groups.
Refreshments will be available and the FA Cup Final is being shown live on the big screen in the clubhouse and in the evening the club are staging a very popular Games Nights.
