Soccer Shorts: Council to cover cost of Deal Town's new clubhouse
BECKENHAM TOWN are erecting a new 150-seater stand on the west side of their Eden Park Avenue ground.
DARTFORD under 13 manager Darren Plant has offered his congratulations and best wishes to two of his players who have signed for Gillingham. Finn O’Mara and Jeffrey Worifah, who helped the Darts win the League title, have signed for the League Two club.
DEAL TOWN have received some good news as Dover District Council have consented to cover the cost of the rebuilding of the clubhouse which was razed to the ground last October as a premium from the insurance company.
An architect has been sorted and he is drawing up the plans for a brick built building rather than the previous Portacbin style which was destroyed.
The plans will be submitted to the Dover District Council and hopefully approved which is dependent on the local community and others.
The Kent League club is in the process of getting quotes to furbish the new build and expect to have a few volunteers to assist in the local building trades which include brickies, plumbers, electricals and general maintenances within the town.
The conditions set by the Council include a solicitor to monitor the finances on behalf of the council.
“Our aim is to, hopefully, have an opening ceremony on New Years’ Eve, which would be the icing on the cake,” said a club statement.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS chairman Joe Croker has praised manager Martin Larkin and his team after his side picked up the Kent League Fair-Play Award last season.
The Culverden Stadium outfit finished in fifth-place in the Kent League last season and reached the fourth round of the FA Vase.
In a statement, published on www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk, Mr Croker said: “We can be immensely proud of this achievement as our ethos is to win in style but also win in a sporting manner.
“Martin can take great credit in this award as he has produced a team which not only finished higher in the league than we have for 26 years and had a great FA Vase run but has done it with players who understand the need for fair play.
“Congratulations to Martin and the team for this very welcome award.”
WELLING UNITED have confirmed that central defender Anthony Acheampong has re-signed for the club, for his third season at Park View Road.

The Ryman League confirmed that there will be 72 clubs in membership for the 2013-14 season. Each division will consist of 24 clubs rather than the present 22, which means that only two clubs will be relegated from the Premier at the end of next season. Only one club will be relegated from the North and South divisions.
