EBBSFLEET UNITED have released five players from last season's squad as Liam Daish continues to shape his team for next season.
The five to leave Stonebridge Road are strikers Raphael Nade and Chukki Eribenne as well as Ronnie Bull, Lee Maskell and Liam Coleman.
Nade joined the club last summer after being released by Carlisle United and played 40 times for the Fleet, scoring four goals.
Eribenne was acquired initially on loan from Grays Athletic, a move made permanent last summer, and he totalled 46 games at the club, scoring 10 times.
Ronnie Bull came to the club from Crawley Town in January 2008, while Lee Maskell graduated from the PASE team last year and former Torquay midfielder Liam Coleman clocked up 52 appearances, 35 from the bench, in a two-year spell at the Fleet.
The club would like to thank them all for their services and the efforts they made during their time at Stonebridge Road and wishes them well in their future careers.
Meanwhile, former Fleet striker, Charlie MacDonald was one of three strikers put on the transfer list by League One side Southend United.
WELLING UNITED boss Andy Ford has made his first two signings of the summer.
Left-back Craig Braham-Barrett, 20, joins the Blue Square South club, having started his career locally at Charlton Athletic. More recently, he has had spells with Eastleigh and East Thurrock United.
Meanwhile, midfielder Rob Quinn has also signed for the Park View Road club.
Quinn has played for numerous clubs, including Crystal Palace, Oxford United, Bristol Rovers and Ebbsfleet United and has also featured three times for the Republic of Ireland under 21 team.
Last season he helped AFC Wimbledon secure promotion into the Blue Square South, scoring three goals in over 45 appearances.
BROMLEY’S attacking options have been further increased with the arrival of Loui Fazakerley, formerly of Bishop’s Stortford, Eastbourne Borough (where he had a loan spell with Tonbridge Angels) and Fulham.
Manager Mark Goldberg is pleased with the newest addition to the Blue Square South outfit.
“Loui can play as a forward and midfielder, he’s quick and tricky and is a player who can unlock defences - he’s a great addition to the team,” he told www.bromleyfc.net.
ASHFORD TOWN boss Steve Lovell is waiting for left-back Daniel Brathwaite to make a decision whether he’s going to stay with the ambitious Ryman League Division One South club.
The former Dover Athletic defender, who commutes from north of London, hasn’t put pen to paper to remain at The Homelands.
But former Sittingbourne boss Lovell is content to wait until the player makes up his mind.
“Brathers is still thinking about our offer and that is fine by me,” Lovell told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk.
“As he has got a young family it’s important that he makes the right decision and we are happy to wait on him.”
Lovell, meanwhile, revealed that he hopes to conclude a deal for a striker this week.
MAIDSTONE UNITED goalkeeper Steve Northwood and East Thurrock United’s stopper Steven Ray won the second ever Keeper Wars event at Princes Park at Dartford last Sunday.
The pair defeated Steve Williams, who is Sittingbourne’s goalkeeping coach, and Lordswood stopper Steve Arnold in the final, winning a tight affair 2-1.
A total number of 28 goalkeepers turned up for the event and joint-organiser John Macrae told www.kentishfootball.co.uk : “The quality was better than last year. It was an enjoyable time, I was pleased.”
EBBSFLEET UNITED youth have been asked to field a side in Jack Maddams’ testimonial this Saturday.
The former Gillingham, Tonbridge Angels and Kent player who made it to the fringes of the England Schoolboys side, passed away in his sleep just days before his 18th birthday on 30th March.
Former Fleet player and PASE coach Ian Docker coached Maddams in his time at Gillingham and a number of Fleet’s PASE side played in teams with him too.
Kick off is at 12 midday on Saturday, 31st May at Strood Sports Centre, Watling Street, Rochester in his honour - in conjunction with the very generous support of the Centre.
Should anyone wish to come and give their support they would be most welcome.
Meanwhile, hot on the heels of Paul McCarthy and Mark Ricketts signing contacts at Ebbsfleet United, former Portsmouth and Livingston midfielder Neil Barrett has confirmed his place in the squad for next season by signing a one-year extension and becoming the ninth Fleet player definitely confirmed for next season.
The 26-year-old Wembley winner made 44 appearances last term despite missing a large part of the start of the season after an injury at Salisbury City.
“I am delighted to have signed for a further year,” Barrett told www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk: “I am looking forward to getting started and I am missing training already!”
Other Fleet players are still in negotiations with the Stonebridge Road club and further details will be released as and when contracts are signed.
