Soccer Shorts: Liam Harwood pens contract to stay at Bromley
BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg is delighted to confirm that Liam Harwood has agreed terms and has signed a one-year contract.
The defender Joins Ali Fuseini, Albert Jarrett, Pierre Joseph-Dubois, Michael Malcolm, Moses Swaibu and Joe Welch who have all agreed and signed terms for the new season.
Harwood has made 67 appearances for the Blue Square Bet South club, scoring just the once against Welling United last September.

The club are preparing for their second season back in the Blue Square Bet Premier after their very successful campaign last season.

All games are filmed for free highlights distribution on the internet and there is also the possibility of coverage on Premier TV as they show some games on the Sky TV platform.

GILLINGHAM Ladies have confirmed their new management team for next season.
James Marrs will become the ladies new first team manager, making the step up from assistant manager in the second half of last season.
Chairman Martin Andrews told www.gillinghamladies.clubfans.co.uk: “I am delighted that James has agreed to be our new manager.
“He has impressed me with his passion and vision for the future and the way he wants the girls to play and I think he will build on the success we have had already and be a success in his own right.
Tyrone Reid will take up the role of assistant manager and Mark Hunter will be first team coach.
Danni Farmer, meanwhile, will take up the position of player/assistant manager and Natalie Crinean will step into Farmer’s shoes as club captain.
MAIDSTONE UNITED have signed Lewes’ front pairing Paul Booth, 35 and Ian Draycott.
RAMSGATE manager Tim Dixon has moved to strengthen his coaching staff with the addition of professional coach Steve Nolan.
Nolan has played or coached at several clubs, including Deal Town, Coventry City, Bournemouth, Dover Athletic, Sittingbourne, Dover Athletic again, Gillingham and Whitstable Town.
On the managerial side he was assistant manager of Dover Athletic’s very successful reserve side back in 2000 before moving to Sittingbourne and then Maidstone United and more recently as assistant to Peter Nott at Whitstable Town (taking over as the managerial reins for a few games after Nott’s departure last autumn, but turning down then chairman Joe Brownett’s offer to take the job permanently to concentrate on coaching). He was also scouting for Premier League outfit Aston Villa in 2011-12.
Dixon told www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk: “I’m very pleased that Steve has joined the management team. He is very well respected by both players and managers who always speak very highly of him and many clubs have been trying to acquire his services.
“He is a fantastic coach and it was obvious after meeting with the chairman (Richard Lawson), Darren (Beale) and I that we all shared the same views and we are all looking forward to ensuring that the club moves forward.
“I am sure that everybody will make Steve feel very welcome.”
TUNBRIDGE WELLS resident, Gary Stevens, 50, says he wants to return to management/coaching in England after two-and-a-half years as the assistant manager at Azerbaijan outfit Gabala. The former Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur and England defender worked alongside former Arsenal star Tony Adams.
Stevens told the Courier Newspaper, “I believe I could be a number one, like I believe I can be a good number two. The thing is, I’ve not had the chance yet. I won’t know if I can be a number one until I get that chance.”
WELLING UNITED have today lost skipper Jack Parkinson, 22, and striker Louis Pires, who have both signed for newly promoted Blue Square Bet Premier side Woking. However, striker Luis Cumbers and left-back Jack Obersteller have re-signed for the Park View Road club with next season in mind.
WHITSTABLE TOWN will be staging a charity game between Soap Stars and some Kent footballing legends at Belmont Road on Sunday, 22 July.
The match is in aid of charity Once Upon A Smile and tickets will go on sale on 1 June.
Andy Hessenthaler, Nicky Southall, Paul Hyde, Jimmy Strouts, Jake Leberl, Dean Yorath, Mark Munday and Marc Seager have all put their names forward for the game with current Whitstable Town manager Justin Luchford taking charge of the side.
They will play against Soap Stars who have appeared in Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, Casualty, Waterloo Road, Britain’s Got Talent, Upstairs and Downstairs.
