Corinthian were admitted into the top-flight of Kent League football at an EGM at Lordswood on Wednesday night, and the City chairman, speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk welcomes the move.
Canterbury City have worked their way up to the premier division of the Vandanel Kent County League, and Mr Knight said, "Since the club were re-formed in 2006, it has been the long term goal of Canterbury City Football Club to return to the Kent Football League so it is important for us that the League continues to exist in a viable and credible form.
"Clearly the loss of Slade Green earlier in the summer was a real blow to the League and its member clubs so I can understand the urgent need to find an appropriate replacement.
"Not knowing the finer details of Corinthians' application or election to the Premier Division of the Kent League, I will take it as read that the process was carried out in accordance with guidance from both the FA and the KCFA.
"A Kent League Premier Division comprising of sixteen clubs is clearly a stronger proposition than one with only fifteen and that is to be welcomed.
"Canterbury City FC wish Corinthian every success in the Kent League Premier Division and look forward to crossing swords with them once again in the future."
ERITH & BELVEDERE have announced that that club Physio Keith Najdowski has decided to take up an offer from another club and has handed in his resignation.

The club he is joining, rumoured to be a Sussex County League team, are getting a top quality Physio."
That Sussex County League side are believed to be Lingfield, considering that former coach Gary Davies is now part of their coaching staff.
NORTON SPORTS manager Ben Taylor has confirmed that the experienced Scott Appleton has stepped up to the assistant managers spot for the forthcoming season.
The club, who start their Bulmers Cider Kent League campaign with a home game with landlords Herne Bay tomorrow, also welcome Jeff Orgill to the management team , Jeff is well known to the players and will be an important influence in the dressing room.
TUNBRIDGE WELLS’ new manager Martin Larkin hopes his tenure at Culverden Stadium gets off to winning ways, when Sporting Bengal United visit tomorrow.
The east London side lost all of their 32 Bulmers Cider Kent League games last season - but have a good record when they travel to Culverden.
"Hopefully we’ll get the Sporting Bengal that played the first 30 games last year and not the Sporting Bengal that scared VCD and Herne Bay in the last two games," Larkin told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk.
"We have an awful record at home to them compared to the other Kent League clubs, so we need to put that right.
"On a personal note, it will be nice to get the first league game in charge out of the way with a win."
He added: "Hopefully we can build on the good crowds we had last year, and really get some support from behind the goal to spur the guys on."
