Stars turn out for Wings legend Brown

STARS from Welling United's past return to Park View Road tomorrow night to play a benefit match against Charlton Athletic's legends to raise money for former Wings' star Derek Brown.
"Derek, who made 112 Conference appearances for the Wings, is making a slow but hopefully full recovery and will be our guest for the night," Lee Hayward, who will play for the Addicks, told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
"Please support his benefit match and enjoy watching the Wings legends take on Charlton's former players once again."
Brown broke his leg in this fixture last October and there at raffle prizes up for grabs, including signed veteran shirts of both sides; a case of wine; a bottle of 12 year single malt and The Guardians "Fifty Years of Football" book.
Confirmed Welling legends include Copes, Mike Rutherford, John Farley, Lew Watts, Tony Dolby, Tony Reynolds, Gary Abbott, Terry Robbins, Ricky Bennett, Joe Francis, Robin Trott, Terry Skiverton, Tony McDonald, Duncan Horton, Steve Robinson, Glen Knight and Wayne Brown.
Hayward, meanwhile, lines up alongside Michael Paye, Mark Penford, Richard Wilson, Colin Walsh, Paul Linger, Peter Garland, Paul Gorman, Garry Nelson, Tony Booth, Dave Ridgeon, Mark Robson, Mark Kinsella, Andy Jones, Steve Gritt, Leroy Ambrose, Peter Shaw, John Humphrey and Simon Webster.
Thursday night's benefit game kick's off at 7:45pm - and admission prices are £7 (adults), £4 (concessions) and £1 (children accompanied by a paying adult).
Meanwhile, back to the present day Wings, manager Andy Ford has offered 28-goal striker Charlie Sheringham, 21 and versatile Jack Parkinson, 19, new contracts, having impressed in Blue Square South on a regular basis this season.
