Striker Frannie Collin puts pen to paper to stay at Tonbridge Angels

TONBRIDGE ANGELS chairman Steve Churcher says he is really pleased that prolific goalscorer Frannie Collin has agreed to stay with the club until the end of next season.


Collin, 24, a former England Schoolboy Under 18 International, has previously played for Chatham Town, Gillingham and Dover Athletic.

Collins’ goalscoring talents have been a major boost for Tonbridge Angels in their inaugural Blue Square Bet (Conference) South campaign and he took his tally to 23 with two goals in yesterday’s 3-0 home win over Weston-super-Mare.

Jon Main opened his goalscoring account following his lengthy injury lay off when he converted a last minute penalty.

Tommy Warrilow’s men sit a respectable eleventh place in the table with 37 points from 27 games, thanks to a run of five league games unbeaten.
 
Dartford, who had sold Charlie Sheringham to AFC Bournemouth earlier on in the season, were interested in bringing Collin to Princes Park, and an unnamed League One club were also interested.
 
But chairman Mr Churcher, who issued the following statement to www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk, confirms Collin is staying put, having signed a contract extension last night.

He said: “We have received several enquiries from other clubs regarding Frannie’s availability and I am really pleased that Frannie has agreed to stay with the Angels for another season.

“Hopefully, the signing will now put the speculation to rest and we can continue to plan for next season.”
