Striker Lovell remains on the sidelines

ASHFORD TOWN assistant manager Hugo Langton puts the rigours of league football behind him as his side looks forward to Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Leatherhead, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Nuts & Bolts are currently at the foot of the Ryman League Division One South table, with a record of two draws and three defeats from their first five league games.

Ashford make the trip to Fetcham Grove, playing a Leatherhead side that are in eighth place in the table, having collected eight points from their opening six games.

Langton, speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk, is expecting a tough encounter against their league rivals.

“Tough draw away from home, but the players are looking forward to it, as they do every game,” said Langton.

“Leatherhead are a good side with some dangerous players, but we will go there and have a good go.”

Defender Carl Harrold and former Bearsted striker Kevin Swaisland are both available after serving one match bans, but left-back Ryan Norman remains a doubt, having picked up a knock during the club’s comfortable 6-1 home win over Sussex County League minnows Mile Oak in the last round.

And Langton revealed that injury plagued striker, Mark Lovell remains on the sidelines.

“Mark is getting fitter, but is still a few weeks away,” Langton added.
