Supporters' plan to resuscitate sunken Fish

FISHER ATHLETIC were officially wound up in the High Court this morning.

Last month the troubled south London outfit, who finished their Blue Square South campaign rock bottom, were granted 21 days to repay their debt to the Inland Revenue, believed to be around £250,000.

"I'm very disappointed for the owners and the people who have worked hard to make this club successful," Fisher chairman Martin Eede told BBC Sport today.

"The implications for the future of the club will become clearer over the next few days."

A statement issued on the club's website, added, "The High Court in London today ruled that Fisher Athletic Football Club be wound up with immediate effect.

"The owners' QC argued for more time to pay the Inland Revenue a figure reported to be in and around £250,000 but to no effect.

"Companies House had earlier dissolved Fisher Athletic from their records."

But supporters are keen to run a side lower down the non-league pyramid in the near future.

"The official website will remain operational and updated throughout the summer and beyond as the "acting" supporters trust look to explore further possibilities and reform the club lower down the non-league pyramid in the near future."
