Telford brings some familiar faces to Lordswood

Thursday 03rd July 2008

NEWLY appointed Lordswood coach Martin Telford has brought some familiar faces with him to the Medway club, writes Stephen McCartney.

The former Tunbridge Wells coach has returned to Kent League football after a two-and-a-half year absence, shortly after Kevin Metcalf, who he worked with at Culverden Stadium, was unveiled as the new coach at Faversham Town.

And several players who played under Metcalf and Telford at Culverden Stadium have teamed up again, this time at North Dane Way.

Kevin Brown, Buster Beaney, Danny Barham, Lee Porter and Scott McRobert, who performed well at Tunbridge Wells, are all expected to feature for the Lords this season, which will include players who played under their present manager Kevin Phillips in Chatham Town’s reserve side.
