Thamesmead agree groundshare deal with Dockers

Monday 21st July 2008

ERITH TOWN have struck a groundshare agreement at their Ryman League Division One North neighbours, Thamesmead Town “with immediate effect.”

The agreement to play their home games at Bayliss Avenue is for an initial two year period, covering this and next season.

As yet, the Dockers haven’t confirmed the reasons behind their switch from the Erith Sports Stadium to Bayliss Avenue, but it allows fans to be much closer to the action, instead of having an athletics’ track surrounding the pitch.

Erith Town’s first Kent League match at their shared home will be their Kent League derby against Greenwich Borough on Monday, 11th August.

Meanwhile, in other news, Jack Parkinson, who played for Kent League runners-up VCD Athletic last season, has today signed for Blue Square South outfit Welling United.

The versatile midfielder, who turns 19 soon, began pre-season training at his former club, Tonbridge Angels and scored for Cray Wanderers in their opening 4-2 warm-up match against Holmesdale, but has opted to sign for the Park View Road club.

The Wings have also signed former Bearsted and Dover Athletic defender, Graeme Andrews.
