THE BIG KICK OFF: We must live up to our expectations, says new Boss Langton - EXCLUSIVE
Friday 10th August 2007
New Rusthall boss, Hugo Langton, takes his side to Sheerness East tomorrow, in their opening British Energy Kent County League game of the season, expecting his side to live up to expectations, writes Stephen McCartney.
Langton, the former coach at Gillingham Ladies, will be without new signing, Lee Speirs (ankle) and Lewis Howard (away) for his first league game in charge.“This is a tough start for us, as I know Sheerness will be a strong and organised side,” Langton admitted EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“However, we are pleased with how our preparation has gone, and we are looking forward to going up there and playing football.
“We are missing a couple of players, but we have plenty of depth now and we’ll be ready when the first whistle blows.
“There is a lot expected of us this season and rightly so, particularly as I have been shouting from the rooftops about this club.
“But this league this season is my opinion will be one of the most exciting yet as there are so many good sides that on their day can beat anyone.”
Crockenhill welcome Hollands & Blair to Wested tomorrow, desperate to improve on their last two campaigns.
The Crocks have been reprieved from relegation from the British Energy Kent County Premier Division for the past two seasons, and assistant, Brian Meaney is hoping for a fine start against the Gillingham-based side.
“The last two (friendly) games have been perfect in regards to the preparation needed for this year’s season,” he said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“Things are now slowly coming together and it is still not the end of the signings but for the meantime Crockenhill is ready to start their campaign with a large squad with a lot of quality in it.”
