The club could not support my visions and ability to move the first team forward, says Chris Tuley

SEVEN ACRE & SIDCUP begin the search for a new manager after Chris Tuley resigned today.

The Oxford Road based club finished in fifth-place in their second Kent Invicta League campaign and came from behind to beat Tudor Sports 2-1 to win the Beckenham Hospital Invitation Charity Cup nine days ago.

Tuley, 32, has made the announcement after discussions and a mutual agreement with club secretary Lee Hill, who was in charge of the side when it finished in tenth-place in the inaugural Kent Invicta League campaign.

Tuley said: “We both agreed that the club, in its current structure, financial demands and with question over future club sponsorship, could not support my visions and ability to move the first team forward any further, as we done so last season and that a bigger club and challenge would be more suited.

“We agreed that the first team had made huge strides forward this season with a fifth-placed finish, compared to last year’s tenth-place finish and winning the Beckenham Hospital Cup and that the future of the club may have to take steps back to move forward.

“I hope the club can do this sooner rather than later once financial stability within the club is found and want to thank Lee for his support giving me the opportunity in managing the first team this season and to those in and around the club who have supported us in what we wanted to achieve.

A huge thanks also to Danny Frost (assistant manager), Phil Collier (coach), John Warzowski (goalkeeping coach), Tom Burnham (reserve team manager), Kevin Mead (reserve team manager), Richy Vincent (supporter), Colin Clifford (physio) and all the players within the club who have been a pleasure to work with and for all their hard work/support this season – all top people and I’m sure we will be seeing each other again very soon.”

Tuley added: “I hope not to be out of a job to long as am passionate about succeeding, at this level and above, at another club who match my ambitions and share the same hunger for success!”
