The FA Cup Draw 2013
Friday 05th July 2013
The early rounds of the FA competitions were drawn at Wembley Stadium this morning.
The FA Cup with Budweiser Headlines:
Cray Valley (Paper Mills) will have home advantage over Lancing when Steve Chapman’s side play their first ever FA Cup tie on 17 August.
There are two interesting Southern Counties East Football League derbies when Beckenham Town play Corinthian at Eden Park Avenue and Fisher play Deal Town at Champion Hill.
Whyteleafe, who are now managed by former Croydon boss John Fowler, will have a Surrey derby when they welcome Epsom & Ewell to Church Road. The two sides will also play each other in The FA Vase.
Canterbury City, meanwhile, must travel to Dorking Wanderers on their FA Cup return after a fifteen year absence.
There is one Kent derby in the Preliminary Round when newly-promoted Erith & Belvedere welcome their Ryman League Division One North opponents Chatham Town to Park View Road.
Simon Halsey could line up against his former club Herne Bay at this stage – if his Lordswood side dispose of Eastbourne United at the first hurdle.
Cray Wanderers could face Faversham Town at Hayes Lane in the First Qualifying Round - if Ray Turner’s side beat Worthing.
Hythe Town will face a lucrative home tie against Maidstone United if Scott Porter’s side come away from Three Bridges with a victory.
FA Carlsberg Trophy Headlines:
There will be one Kent derby in The FA Carlsberg Trophy Preliminary Round when Sittingbourne host their Ryman League Division One South rivals Whitstable Town at their new venue at Woodstock Park.
Ramsgate will travel to Faversham Town in the First Qualifying Round – but that all depends on the Lilywhites coming back from Aylesbury United with a win.
Thamesmead Town will play their first FA Trophy tie as a Ryman Premier League club with a home tie against their league rivals Metropolitan Police.
FA Carlsberg Vase Headlines:
Kent Invicta League newcomers Glebe, who have secured a two-year groundshare deal with Holmesdale, have been drawn away from home on their FA Vase debut and must travel to Oakwood in the First Qualifying Round.
Debutants Phoenix Sports, who lost only one game in the title-winning Kent Invicta League campaign last season, welcome Sidley United to their Barnehurst ground.
There is one Kent derby at this stage of the competition when Sevenoaks Town welcome Canterbury City to Greatness Park.
Woodstock Sports could entertain Deal Town in the Second Qualifying Round if Derek Hares’ side see off Epsom Athletic at the Charles Sports Ground.
