The fans will make it a cracking atmosphere - Lovell
Invicta arrive at Homelands Stadium sitting in third place in the Ryman League Division One South table, but have the meanest defence anywhere in the country, conceding only 16 goals in 31 league games.
“We know it's going to be a tough game,” Lovell told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk.
“The fans always look forward to this one and I'm sure they will create a cracking atmosphere from the stands – we just have to make sure we do our jobs on the pitch – it's just business as usual for the players.
“Folkestone don't concede many goals but they don't score many either so it's bound to be a tight one. After watching them play we might switch our formation around a bit, but I know if we perform to as we know we can then we can pick up the three points.”
Lovell’s men climbed out of the relegation zone with a morale-boosting 4-1 win at Walton Casuals at the weekend – winning a true six-pointer on the banks of the River Thames.
“It was a good display all-round to be honest. We defended well as a unit, Scott (Chalmers-Stevens) had a good game in goal and we looked good going forward,” reflected a delighted Lovell.
“I thought we could have scored a few more, especially in the second-half, but maybe a couple of times the lads took a strike a on goal when maybe someone else was in a better position, but you can't blame them for having a go as there is a lot of confidence running through the side now and it's great to see.
“Now we are out of the relegation zone it is a big boost for everyone but we have to maintain focus and make sure we continue to perform as we know we can do.”
Lovell also revealed that Matt Newman is the only slight doubt after taking a knock to the knee but he is likely to recover, otherwise he has a fully fit squad to choose from tonight.
