The problem is we don't score enough goals, says Cugley

FOLKESTONE INVICTA boss Neil Cugley admits his side don’t score enough goals, writes Stephen McCartney.
Cugley saw his side suffer only their third league defeat of the season at Sittingbourne at the weekend, as goals from Hicham Akhaazan (a penalty that he won after being fouled by Micheal Everitt) and Tom Bradbrook sent Sittingbourne to seventh place in the Ryman League Division One South table.
Folkestone had to play with just ten-men for all but three minutes of the second half after striker Simon Austin was red-carded for a horrible challenge on Sittingbourne goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim, who was stretchered off with a fracture on his shin.
Austin became the first Folkestone Invicta player to be sent off this season and Cugley will have to make changes to his line-up in two weeks time once the striker’s suspension kick’s inn.
He will, however, be available for Tuesday night’s Kent derby at Chatham Town, and Cugley, who was speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk is looking forward to the game.
“We’ve got Chatham, which is another local derby, and then we’ve got Croydon (Athletic) Saturday, we knew they would be three difficult games,” said Cugley.
“To be fair to Sittingbourne, they’re a good side, hard to beat. We are starting to get short on numbers so it’s going to be a really hard nine weeks for us.
“We’ve enjoyed the season so far, we’re going to carry on doing that and just do the best we can.
“The problem we have is we don’t score enough goals.”
Chatham Town may be sitting in 13th place in the table with 11 wins and 3 draws from their 28 league outings, but Cugley has respect for Alex O’Brien and his side.
“I think they’re good, I like Chatham,” he said. “I’ve seen them a couple of times, obviously we played them earlier and they’re a good side.
“It will be a hard game and once we’re up the top there’s people who want to knock us off.”
