There's going to be loads of twists and turns this season, says Angels' boss Tommy Warrilow

TONBRIDGE ANGELS boss Tommy Warrilow says there will be many more ups and downs this season, writes Stephen McCartney. The Angels have experienced a mixed opening week in their inaugural Blue Square Bet South campaign.
An impressive 4-0 win at Maidenhead United was followed by a disastrous 4-1 home defeat to fellow promoted side Sutton United in midweek.
“We’ve got three games coming up in a quick time over the Bank Holiday Monday, so there are going to be ups and downs – we said that this season,” said Warrilow, 44.
The Angels welcome full-time outfit Eastleigh to Longmead Stadium on Saturday, before travelling to Welling United (23 August) and Dover Athletic (27 August) and welcoming much-fancied Woking to Longmead Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.
Warrilow, who guided the club out of the Ryman Premier League after enthralling play-off wins over Harrow Borough and Lowestoft Town, says he will get his troops’ spirits raised at training tonight, ahead of a tough period.
“We’ll go through bits and we’ll try and put a smile back on their faces,” he said.
“The season’s two games old, we’ve got three points out of six. We’ve got to make sure Saturday we end up with six out of nine and so on but like I said there’s going to be lots of twists and turns.
“We’re not going to get our own way this year so it’s important we learn from it. I’ve learnt from Tuesday night about a few things. Performances like that doesn’t necessarily make them bad players overnight.
“We had it last year, if things don’t pick up and don’t look clever we’ll address that but when you get a performance like that on Saturday and I put the same boys out there against Sutton that’s the little bit that frustrates you.”
