Transfer News: Talks are going well with my higher league targets, says Burman

DARTFORD boss Tony Burman has today unveiled Elliott Bradbrook as his first summer signing, writes Stephen McCartney.The versatile 24-year-old left-footed midfielder has put pen to paper for the Princes Park outfit this morning, having signed from Ryman Premier League rivals Maidstone United.
“We spoke to Elliott last week, he confirmed to us today that he wanted to come and join us, and he signed for us this morning,” Burman told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“When Elliott played against us (for Maidstone United) he’s had good games. I’ve watched him on a number of occasions and he’s a player with a good left foot.
“He’s a strong midfield player who can play in a number of positions. We’re looking for players who can play in a number of positions and Elliott can play down the left or central midfield.
“He’s a strong, big lad who is going to improve our squad, that’s for sure.”
The 24-year-old spent three years in the USA on a football scholarship with NCAA Division One side University of Akron.
In his previous spell with Maidstone United, he picked up the Supporters' Association Player of the Year award in season 2003-04.
A strong tackler and fluent passere of the ball, the former Gillingham youngster will surely be a firm favourite with the Princes Park faithful next season, as he was with the Stones faithful.
The Dartford boss, meanwhile, has rubbished speculation that he’s going to bring brother Tom, a striker who banged in 14 goals for Sittingbourne during an injury-hit campaign last season, back to the club - for the time being.
Burman said: “Tom has had a brilliant season at Sittingbourne and he’s a player we let go so he could have more games.
“He’s doing very well there at the moment, never say never, Tom, isn’t one, right now we should have.
“Tom’s having a great season and maybe a couple of years at that level will do him the world of good.”
But Burman is expecting to unveil some more targets within the next couple of weeks.
He said: “I’m speaking to a number of players who have been in Conference South level football. My meetings with those players have gone very well and we’ll be looking at some answers in the next two weeks.”
Elsewhere, one division above the Darts, Welling United have lost the services of their top scorer, Charlie Sheringham, who last week opted to move to Blue Square South rivals Bishop's Stortford. The transfer fee will be agreed by an FA tribunal.
Boss Andy Ford has agreed terms with defender Graeme Andrews.
Striker Frannie Collin will be looking to bag plenty of goals in Blue Square South, after agreeing a new one-year contract with promoted Dover Athletic.
The popular figure on the Crabble terraces, the former Chatham Town and Gillingham striker, has been a key player in the Whites back-to-back promotions from Ryman One South to the second tier of the Football Conference.
Only Alan Pouton has not signed a new deal - and boss Andy Hessenthaler is giving the midfielder the weekend to think things over.
Hessenthaler is away for the weekend and expects a decision upon his return.
The club confirms that talks are still on-going with a Blue Square Premier player - and a deal cannot be done until next week.
