Trott satisfied with opening warm-up
Margate manager Robin Trott pronounced himself satisfied with last night’s opening pre-season friendly at Blue Square Southern big-spenders, Bromley.
James Pinnock and Paul Axon scored the goals for the Thanet side during their
3-2 defeat at Hayes Lane.
“We played a lot of trailists and young lads in the second half, but overall I’m very pleased with how it went,” Trott told www.margate-fc.com.
“We’ve got a few different faces this year, and I was always going to play two different teams.”
Trott went on to talk about the younger players taking part in the match, and then spoke about his new assistant, Steve McKimm, who replaces the departed Mike Flanagan.
He said: “He’s a strong character, and the players, they really respect him.
“He’s been around non-league for a while, and he knows a lot of players. And he’s (already) come up with a couple of names.”
The manager confirmed that there may will be more new faces for Saturday’s home friendly against Blue Square Premier outfit Grays Athletic.
