Troubled Fisher given stay of execution and may finish the season

Wednesday 04th March 2009

FISHER ATHLETIC, who are still faced with the prospect of being wound up by the Inland Revenue, were today given 49 days to clear their outstanding debt.

Otherwise, the south London club, rooted to the foot of the Blue Square South table, having lost all of their last fifteen games, face the prospect of what would be a third court appearance on Wednesday, 22nd April 2009, which would most probably result in the club being unable to compete in any competitive fixtures going forward.

The reprieve does, however, allow Fisher Athletic to compete the current season, if the final Blue Square South game away to Braintree Town is brought forward from the final day of the season three days after their court appearance.
