I'll always do all I can to get as far as I can in The FA Cup, says Tunbridge Wells boss Richard Styles
TUNBRIDGE WELLS manager Richard Styles says he wants his club to enjoy a run in The FA Cup this season.
The Wells pulled off a shock 2-1 win at Sheppey United on the opening day of the season and are in sixth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table.
Tunbridge Wells host Pagham in The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday.
Pagham arrive at Culverden Stadium sitting in the bottom three in the Southern Combination Premier Division table, having lost to both AFC Uckfield Town (0-2) and Saltdean United (0-3) during their opening week.
“We have had a really good week with the boys training ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Pagham,” said Styles.
“The result last Saturday went to plan and we came home with full points.
“Saturday will be the same that we will set-up in a way that we feel gives the best chance to win the game.
“The FA Cup is one of, it not, the biggest domestic cup competition in the world, so to play in it is something players, coaches, managers never forget and I’ll always do all I can to get as far as I can.
“It’s the same with the club and of course the fans that we have are on board and want to see us progress.
“It’s now up to us and the boys to make that happen.”
The winners travel to Isthmian League South East Division side Haywards Heath Town in the Preliminary Round on Saturday 24 August.
