“Martin and I worked very closely at Ashford, and I hope to promote and aid the development of many more players for our new club,” Robbins said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk tonight.
Highly-rated Burgess Hill Town goalkeeper, Andre Foster, Barry Crawford (Hythe Town), Gary Clarke (Ashford Town), Danny White (Chatham Town) and Aiden Pursglove (Hythe Town) all came through the reserves with the management team at Ashford Town.
“We hope to have a young and energetic side and give (first team manager) Martin Farnie some well drilled and developed players as soon as possible,” said Ashford resident Robbins.
John Whittaker will be responsible for the fitness side, being an army PTI he will also hope develop a great team spirit.
Talking about his time at Rye United, Robbins added that the standard of Sussex County football is very similar to that of the Kent League, “but the facilities and length of the journey’s left a lot to be desired.”
