Tunbridge Wells form limited company

Tuesday 30th June 2009
TUNBRIDGE WELLS held their annual general meeting at Culverden Stadium last Friday – and members voted to turn the Bulmers Cider Kent League club into a limited company.

Joe Croker, who was secretary last season, has been appointed the club’s new chairman and a new committee has been formed to run affairs at Culverden Stadium.

Darren Cousins (vice-chairman); James Hitchell (secretary), Gary Jeffery (accounts), Heather Milton (accounts), John Milton (supporters), Phil Allcorn (fixtures) and Dave Knell (league watch).

“In addition, we voted to become a company limited by guarantee,” Mr Croker told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk.

“This means that we are still controlled by members, and that there are no shareholders – profits cannot be distributed.

“Our personal liability is restricted to £1.”

Also raised at the meeting was the desire to become more local and involved in the community as a club.

First team manager Martin Larkin will continue to use local players, and retained virtually all of those he wanted from last season.
