Make no mistake, it's a big game for both sides, says Tunbridge Wells boss Jason Bourne, ahead of Fisher's visit

TUNBRIDGE WELLS manager Jason Bourne says tomorrow’s home game against Fisher is a big game for both sides.

The Wells are seven points clear of basement side Fisher going into tomorrow’s clash at Culverden Stadium and are a couple of games unbeaten, while Dean Harrison has won one, drawn one and lost three of his games since taking over from Gary Abbott at Fisher.

Tunbridge Wells are in the bottom five with 19 points from 20 games and are six points clear of the relegation zone.

“The reverse fixture saw us take the points against a good and very mobile Fisher side that to be fair played some very good football although results did not show that,” said Bourne.

“But since then they have changed manager and with bringing Dean Harrison in have found some stability and improved results along with that.

“After a tough Christmas fixture list the last two games have seen us heading in the right direction with both performances and results.

“We won’t be getting too carried away and will seek to continue our improvement not only as a side but by challenging each and every player to push themselves in every game and session we have together.

“The message is clear that pulling on the Tunbridge Wells shirt is not just a routine but a huge privilege!

“We have a very strong squad of 18, which naturally leaves a few upset every week but that is part and parcel of the job and keeps the motivated hungry.

“For the first time this season for one reason or another we are starting to have a settled spine to the side, which is massive to any side.

“Jamie Lawrence has come in and given us some steel and it’s just infectious to everyone around him.  He has previously been at the club and made no secret that the place is a perfect fit for him.

“We struggled to score the goals required and brought in James Pinnock (from FC Elmstead) and the lad has looked like he’s been here forever and most importantly hit it off with Josh Biddlecombe.  The pair are looking a real threat in games and so sharp in training, it’s scary!

“The crowd at the game tomorrow will certainly get their money’s worth tomorrow. Make no mistake, it’s a big game for both sides!”
