VCD ATHLETIC begin the search for a new manager after announcing the shock departure of Keith McMahon.
A club statement from the Crayford based club, said: “Following a committee meeting last evening and after much discussion, first-team manager Keith McMahon has been relieved of his position at the club with immediate effect.
“Keith has been part of VCD Athletic for the past five seasons and the club would like to put on record their thanks for all his hard work and effort during his time in trying to take the club forward.
“The club also wishes him every success in his next venture.”
The former Thamesmead Town manager admitted he "didn't see" his departure coming, hence why the news has come as a shock to all concerned.
McMahon added: "Just want to thank all my staff and players for the support you have shown me today and over the years.
"Also the messages I have received today and phone calls has astonished me. From players past and present and managers from all levels, thank you so much, means a lot."
McMahon has confirmed he will still manage VCD Athletic's under 13 side next season.
Should any person wish to apply for the vacant position in the club, please send a CV to club secretary Dave Joy on davejoyo@yahoo.co.uk.
VCD Athletic were sitting in eighth-place in the Isthmian League South East Division table with 42 points from 30 games at the time of the coronavirus pandemic in March that forced the campaign to be declared null and void by The Football Association.
