Monday 16th June 2008

GORDON WALLIS has today notified the board of Folkestone Invicta of his resignation as a director and as chairman of the Ryman League Division One South club with immediate effect.

A statement issued by the club on it’s website www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk  said: “Gordon is owed a debt of gratitude for his work as a director and latterly chairman of the club.

“In his short time as chairman he has worked tirelessly with (manager) Neil Cugley to secure the signature of the quality signings the club has made for next season’s squad.

“Additionally, Gordon had commenced a review of many aspects of the club’s off-the field activities and the board will be aiming to build constructively on those initiatives in the months ahead.

“A further announcement will be made by the board, when they have had an opportunity to fully explore the position.”
