Ward targets three or four new players for next season
Wednesday 24th February 2010
RAMSGATE boss Jim Ward has already targeted new players for next season, despite admitting last night that his season is all but over, writes Stephen McCartney.
A hard-fought 1-1 draw at high-flying Fleet Town last night means that the Rams are eleven points adrift of the play-off’s (with a playing record of 9 wins, 9 draws and 9 defeats) and have 15 league games remaining.
“We can’t find a win at the moment,” Ward told www.kentishfootball.co.uk following the hard-fought muddy scrap at Calthorpe Park last night.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s home game against Metropolitan Police, Ward said: “”I’ve got a lot of my lads back so it will be a chance to rest my young lads a little bit.”
Ward is already looking at who he needs to make it a much better successful season for the club next term.
“I’ve got three or four players that I’ve picked out for next year,” said Ward. “They will strengthen us in certain areas and I’ll keep the players that I have got, which I will, and we’ll be ready to give it a go next year.
“We’ve got to give some of our fans something to sing along too.”
