We believe we are making best use of our budget, says Bromley boss Mark Goldberg

BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg says he wants the club’s supporters to work with him as he aims for an exciting season ahead.

The Ravens finished in a disappointing fifteenth-place in Conference South last season but defeated Kingstonian to win the London Senior Cup at the end of the campaign.

Goldberg is pleased to confirm that goalkeeper Joe Welch; midfielders Mike Jones; Danny Waldren; strikers Elliot Buchanan and Warren McBean have agreed terms ahead of the new campaign.

Goldberg remains very hopeful that leading goalscorer Pierre Joseph-Dubois will accept terms offered to him by the club.

Joining those key players at Hayes Lane will be Joe Anderson (Cambridge United), Alex Bentley (AFC Hornchurch), Jay May and Rob Swaine (both Billericay Town) and Shamir Mullings, a young prospect who has just been released by Southend United.

Bentley and May need no introduction to Hayes Lane.  Striker May has previously played for the club in 2008 and highly-rated left-back Bentley played for tenants Cray Wanderers before switching to AFC Hornchurch.

Last but not least, Goldberg can announce what he and the club believe to be a major capture, in the signing of much sought after midfielder Ashley Nichols from Dorchester Town.

Goldberg told www.bromleyfc.net: “I have admired Ashley for a number of years now, having been up against him on numerous occasions and we are very happy as a club to have secured him for the new season.”

Goldberg added: “We are delighted to have secured these players so far, especially Rob Swaine and Jay May, who have caused us all sorts of problems playing against them in recent seasons and despite not having the funds of certain counterparts in our league, we believe we are making the best use of our budget.

“I therefore hope the supporters work with us as we aim for an exciting season ahead.

“We continue to be in discussions with additional players to strengthen our squad for the new season.”

Nichols explained Goldberg’s commitment to the club swayed his move to Hayes Lane.

He said: “I'm looking forward to next season. I've come to the club because of the manager’s commitment and enthusiasm for Bromley and what he is trying to do, which will hopefully give the players and supporters something to be excited about.”
